We will not be having breakfast meetings the first three months of this year as we had scheduled. Instead, the Board passed a resolution and bylaws that will allow us to start an associate membership for a young professionals group, which will be headed by Dr. Colby Smith, assisted by Aly Shoji. More on this to come.
Saturday, February 11, is our Valentines Brunch at Lawry’s Restaurant on La Cienega Boulevard. Your invitation should be in the mail.
On February 26, John Heidt will be leading a group that will be feeding the homeless.
PP Leo Tseng, Hank Heuer, Ann Samson and Terry de Sousa came up to the podium to be thanked for their hard work in making the Holiday Shopping Spree a great success. Terry and Leo took over this year for Mike Yousem, who was the guiding force of this event for 29 years. Hank Heuer made sure the participants completed new insurance forms, and Ann Samson made sure we had a bus. Ann Samson and Hank Heuer received vests for their work on the project.
Third quarter program chair Jack Paul introduced our speaker for the day, Greg Wong. He is a graduate of Stanford and of the Berkeley law school who is now in the field of social media. He gave us food for thought, legally and socially, on the importance of social media such as Facebook and Twitter. It was a very informative and interesting talk.
