It is the responsibility of this avenue to initiate, develop, and complete projects designed to improve our community. Committees functioning within this avenue:

  • a) Environment: Develop projects for maximum possible contribution toward restoring and improving the environ­ment in all its aspects.
  • b) Rural-Urban Relations: Develop understanding between city -and farm of their mutual dependency.
  • c) Safety: Study all aspects of safety in community such as traffic, industrial and home; collect the facts of the situation, to cooperate with other involved organizations and to develop plans for club work in this field.
  • d) Senior Citizens: Develop projects and activities to benefit the aged.
  • e)  Civic Activities: Initiate and support Chamber of Commerce and Community Council. Work for Community Center. Study various forms of municipal government. Give awards to good citizens. Conduct citizenship contests among high school students. Sponsor civic improvement associations
  • f) Scholarship and Awards: Administers-a-program-of-financial aid for scholarships and craft abilities. (Westwood-Village has given scholarships to University High School Students and to Student Volunteers at UCLA Medical Center.)
